Characteristics of women with tubal sterilization related outcome of fallopian tube reconstruction

Abstract

Objectives: In order to understand characteristics of women patients with tubal sterilization, treated by reconstructed fallopian tubes, in National Hospital of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Methods: The study was used a descriptive, cross-sectional method, we evaluated 154 tubal sterilization women after treatment by tube reconstruction.

Results: The study found that: Patients’demography: 49.34% under the age of 35; 61.04% are peasants; 72.08% from rural areas. Patients’ prehistory: 26.62% were caesarean sections, 3.9% had other adomial surgery, 0.65% infected with tuberculosis, 14.29% infected with clamydia, 52.6% sterilized by Hulka clip, 47.4% sterilized by Pomeroy technique, 78.57% are over 5 years from sterilized. Fallopian tubes of patients before surgery: 93.51% blocked at isthmicampullary segments; 32.47% sticky; 79.87% length over 3cm. Fallopian tube segments of patients were reconstructed: 1.3% interstitial-isthmic; 72.73% isthmic-isthmic; 24.68 % isthmic-ampullary; 1.3% ampullary-ampullary. Treatment outcome: 56.49% prenagnt, 2.60% ruptured ectopic pregnant; among pregnant woman after the sugery: 79.31% pregnant withthin 12 month after the surgery; 26.44% have 2nd baby after the surgery.

Conclusions: Majority of these patients were elderly, long time from from tubal sterilization to tube reconstruction, fallopian tubes were short.
