Abstract
Placenta accreta is an abnormality of the placenta position. It could lead to severe complication for pregnant women due to placenta bleeding. The rate of this condition is increasing due to preference of cesarian section.
Objectives: to describe the result of prenatal diagnosis of placenta accrete previa with previous section by ultrasound in National hospital of Obstetrics and Gynaecology from september 2016 to march 2017.
Materials: 98 pregnacies are prenatal diagnosed placenta previa with previous section and follow up untill cesarian section with hysterectomy or not. Diagnostic criteria identified as uterine pathology: have picture increta. Method: a descriptive study with following up.
Results: among 28 pregnancies are prenatal diagnosed placenta previa with previous section by ultrasound there are 24 cases uterine pathology have picture increta. Among 70 pregnancies have placenta previa with previous cesarian section are not prenatal diagnosed placenta accrete there are 07 cases must hysterectomy with uterine pathology have picture increta. Sensitivity 77.4%; specificity 94%; positive predictive value 85.7%; negative predictive value 90%.
Conclusion: placenta accrete previa with previous cesarian section can be successfully detected prenataly using ultrasound.
