Abstract

Objectives: Study on the diagnostic value of the Doppler resistance index of middle cerebral artery and umbilical ratio and its correlation to predict fetal distress IUGR associated with pre-eclampsia.

Methods: 124 patients with pre-eclampsia at Obs. & Gyn. Department - Hue University Hospital were taken by prospective cohort study.

Results: Mean of RI middle cerebral artery was 0.74 (0.161) and umbilical artery was 0.67 (0.093). The doppler resistance of middle cerebral/umblical artery ratio < 1 was very high 76.9% in group fetal distress and 71.4 % in the IUGR group. The rate doppler resistance index of middle cerebral/umblical artery had a close relation to abnormal fetal after delivery.

Conclusion: CRI/URI ratio abnomal is a very good predictor of adverse outcome distress and IUGR in the fetuses of women with preeclamsia
