Tóm tắt

Oligohydramniosis is found to aggravatefetal distress during labor, indirectly increasing cesarean delivery rate. The chances of women with oligohydramnios pregnancy undergoing a cesarean delivery due to fetal distress are about 2.6 - 4.8 times greater than women with normal pregnancy. Objectives: 1. To investigate the labour process in pregnant women with oligohydramnios. 2. To find out the relationship between amniotic fluid index (AFI) and labour outcome. Methods: A retrospective descriptive study on 55 pregnant women with oligohydramnios showing labour signs upon being hospitalized in Hue Central Hospital’s Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics between 01/03/2012 and 31/03/2013. Results: Head first was seen in 88.15% of the women; breech presentation was observed in 9.88% and transverse lie was seen in 1.97% of the women with oligohydramnios. The percentage of premature membrane rupture was the highest (70.9%). Meconium staining of amniotic fluid was seen in 20.0%. Vaginal birth rate was 58.3%, and cesarean section rate was 41.7%. The average length of labour was 24.67 ± 17.90 hours. The average AFI was 2.76 ± 1.30. The women with AFI between 2 and 4 accounted for 65.05%, the highest percentage, which was statistically significant. In the group with variability < 5, the women with AFI < 2 accounted for 1,8%, while in the group with variability > 10, the percentage of women with AFI between 4 and 5 was the highest (20%) with a statistically significant difference. Cesarean section rate was 63.6% in the group with AFI < 4, and vaginal birth rate was 23.6% in the group with AFI between 4 and 5, which was statistically significant (p<0,01). Conclusion: Oligohydramnios affects fetal status and labour outcomes.
