Abstract

Objective: first step evaluation of preimplantation genetic screening in human embryos at IVF center of NHOG. Methods: A cross sectional study of 11 women with 37 embryos underwent FISH-based PGD during IVF procedure. At day 3, one or two blastomeres were aspirated from each embryo. Biopsied blastomeres were examined using FISH analysis to screen out embryos with chromosomal abnormalities (5 chromosomes: 13, 18, 21 and X, Y). Results: There were 45,9% embryos with abnormal chromosomes. The highest abnormal chromosome rate was 21 (40,93%), the lowest rate were X,Y and 13 (13,63%). Blatulation rate: 86,49%. Pregnancy rate: 66,67%, implantation rate: 40,9%. Conclusion: A high incidence of chromosomal abnormalities has been observed in these patient groups. PGD has no influence on implantation and clinical pregnancy rate in IVF.
