Succesfully treatment a case of twin – In Vitro Fertilazation (IVF) 24 weeks gestation in National Hospital of Obstetrics and Gynecology 2015

Abstract

Objective: Report a case of twins - In vitro fertilization (IVF),24 weeks gestation, were treated succesfully in National Hospital of obstetrics and gynecology.

Case report: a 29 years old woman at 24 weeks of gestations, PARA:1001, pregnant by IVF, delivered a twins: a boy - birth weight 600gr, a girl – 500gr. After birth, two infants in very serious condition, were resuscitation, aggressive treatmen by stable temperature, respiratory support, early using Surfactant and nutrition, water and electrolyte acidbase balance, Vitamin K, Cafein, infection control at center of care and treatment for newborn. At discharge (~ 37 weeks of pregnancy) and after discharge (40 weeks pregnant) both children are stable: weight 3250gr and 3350gr, length 47.0cm and 47.5 cm, head circumference 34.0cm and 34.5 cm, breasts 32.5cm and 32.5cm.

Conclusions: Twins - IVF, 24 weeks gestational age (weighing: 500gr, 600gr). After birth, two infants in very serious condition, were resuscitation, aggressive treatmen at center of care and treatment for newborn, at discharge and after discharged two newborns catch up momentum growth and development in the uterus, in stable health condition. This is a twin with gestation lowest in Vietnam.
