Abstract

Introduction: In-vitro maturation has many advantages such as safety, convenience, reduced treatment cost. Yet, the efficacy of the technique has been most concerned for years. The improvement of technique efficacy in terms of pregnancy and implantation rates have attracted many clinicians and scientists. This is a retrospective study to verify the improvement of IVM results after the modifications of different treatment protocols in IVM. Materials & methods: The study were conducted by CGRH, School of Medicine, VNU-HCM. Data were collected at IVFAS, An Sinh Hospital. Treatment protocols were modified consecutively from late 2010 to 2012. Data were retrieved from patients’ files and patients database at IVFAS. Results: The treatment results showed that clinical pregnancy rate increased gradually through years from 25.7% (2010) to 29.9% (2011) and 38.1% (2012). The implantation rates also increased from 12.1% (2010) to 16.5% (2011) and 17.3% (2012). The differences are statistically significant when compared data of the year 2012 and 2010. Conclusion: The modification of several important procedures in IVM treatment resulted in improvement of pregnancy rates. The clinical pregnancy rate of IVM program is now comparablte to that of conventinonal, stimulated IVF program.
