Abstract

Objectives: To study the rate of congenital anomaly and risk factors of congenital anomaly. materials: 201 newborns with congenital anomaly in our department from April 2012 to April 2014. Method: A cross-sectional study. Results: The rate of congenital anomaly is 1.8%, circulatory system is the most common site, 54%. There is 1 case with down syndrom. The age of woman who have these malformation babies from 20-35 is 56%, 51% of them live in the countryside and 41% work as farmer. There are 19% of babies was diagnosed during prenatal care. Conclusion: Congenital malformation is common in newborns in our department, and the most common site is circulatory system. Most of the woman who have malformation babies live in the countryside and work as farmers. Prenatal care is very important, but not too much malformation babies were diagnosed prenatally.
