Abstract

Objective: To identify the pregnancy rate of IUI in post-laparoscopy patients treated for infertility at National hospital of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Methods: A prospective study of 105 women who were indicated IUI within 1 year after received laparoscopic treatment for infertility, from August 2017 to July 2018. Results: 105 women with 171 cycles IUI were surveyed. Pregnancy rate which includes clinical, biochemical and ectopic pregnancy is 14.04% per cycle and 22.86% per couple, with success rate (means clinical pregnancy) is 10.53% and 17.14%, respectively. Pregnancy rate is inversely proportional to the level of pelvic adhesion. Ectopic pregnancy rate is 4.76% per couple, common occurs in patient with inflamed, dilated, occlusive tubal and only occurs if tubal was intervened. Conclusion: The pregnancy rate of IUI is nothigh and ectopic pregnancy accounts for one-fifth of cases. Therefore, in patient with severe abdominal adhesions or inflamed, dilated, occlusive fallopian tubes, a treatment ofsalpingectomyor proximal occlusion then IVF should be indicated immediately, to avoid extending expectant time and increasing the risk of ectopic pregnancy.
