Chlamydia trachomatis là một trong những tác nhân nhiễm khuẩn lây qua tình dục thường gặp nhất ở phụ nữ. Ngoài các hệ quả trên chức năng sinh sản, nhiễm Chlamydia trachomatis ở phụ nữ mang thai làm tăng nguy cơ gặp kết cục thai kỳ xấu, bao gồm ối vỡ non, sinh non, thai chết lưu, và trẻ sơ sinh nhẹ cân. D còn có thể lây truyền dọc từ mẹ sang con khi sinh ngả âm đạo, gây viêm kết mạc và viêm phổi ở trẻ sơ sinh, làm tăng thêm bệnh suất và tử suất sơ sinh. Dù có tiêu chuẩn chẩn đoán và quy trình tầm soát đơn giản, hiện nay vẫn chưa có nhiều khuyến cáo về tầm soát và quản lý Chlamydia trachomatis trên đối tượng là phụ nữ mang thai. Bài tổng quan này trình bày các bằng chứng cập nhật về đặc điểm lâm sàng, hệ quả, cũng như các phương thức tầm soát, chẩn đoán và chiến lược quản lý nhiễm Chlamydia trachomatis trong thai kỳ.
