Việc điều trị testosterone cho phụ nữ được áp dụng khá rộng rãi, với nhiều chỉ định khác nhau. Dù vậy, đến nay vẫn chưa có cơ quan quản lý dược nào phê duyệt chế phẩm testosterone chính thức cho phụ nữ. Chứng cứ về tính an toàn của sử dụng testosterone lâu dài cũng chưa đầy đủ. Bài viết cập nhật những khuyến cáo mới nhất của các hiệp hội chuyên ngành về chỉ định, phương thức và theo dõi điều trị testosterone dựa trên y học chứng cứ nhằm định hướng cho thực hành lâm sàng.
